Troop 1539, Orca District, Chief Seattle Council was founded in 1972. We are chatered by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Henry Bryner Post 4992.
We are a very active troop of 50 scouts who meet on Mondays at 7:00 PM in the basement of the VFW hall at
9981 Central Valley Road. This site currently hosts 23,182 pictures from our troop's outings, with even more hiqh quality copies on our assoicated SmugMug site (troop1539.smugmug.com). The average age of our scouts is 13, and they have collectively earned 256 Merit Badges in the past year.
We are very big on the outdoor program, having completed 24 camp outs totaling 55 nights of camping in the past year alone! We feel it is important to give back to our community, towards which we have completed 1379 hours of service this past year.

Andrew in the hospital recovering
Andrew and Luke were riding bikes in the Illahee preserve on
Wednesday afternoon when Andrew took a spill and went flying
off his bike. Turned out he broke his femur in his right
leg, Yes, that's the leg he wears his prothesis on, If you
can believe that. Total compound fracture, just snapped in
two. He had surgery in 2000 where they had to sever his
femur and rotate his lower leg and put in a plate with 5
screws. This is where it snapped in two, right at the base
of the existing plate. That has to be removed and a special
longer locking plate installed.
Luke called 9-1-1 and led the paramedics to where Andrew
was. Thank goodness he had his phone. He was the little
hero in all this.
Welcome to Chris- our newest Scout
His family has recently moved to the area and Chris has
decided to join our Merry band- so for a short while we are up
to 50 scouts!
